SA Ambulance Service (SAAS) provides emergency, non-emergency pre-hospital care, and transport throughout South Australia, including rural and remote regions.

Ambulance volunteers (over 1200 staff) form the backbone of the ambulance service in South Australia’s country regions. In around 80 locations across the state, ambulance volunteers deliver ambulance services to local communities, providing life-saving treatment and transfer services to regional towns, supported by our Emergency Operations Centre, MedSTAR retrieval service and paramedics from large regional communities.
