There are more than 1200 volunteers in regional South Australia in over 70 volunteer teams. Ambulance volunteers provide professional emergency ambulance and patient transfer services within their country communities.
You can volunteer at your local station as a volunteer ambulance officer. You’ll attend emergency and non-emergency ambulance calls, as well as other duties as required.
Volunteering can become part of your lifestyle. Our operational volunteers are required to regularly undertake training and be on the roster. Each of our teams require different availability – once you’ve submitted your application, the team leaders in your region will give you a call to chat about your local team. In the meantime, hopefully the FAQs can answer any other questions you may have but, if not, please give the Volunteer Support Unit a call on 1300 175 584 or email SAASVolunteer@sa.gov.au.
You could be our next ambulance volunteer, so find out more about the application process.
